The North Hinksey Conduit House
We are looking after the North Hinksey Conduit House on behalf of English Heritage. It's a remarkable piece of Oxford's history, located on a hill looking out over the ringroad and onto the famous dreaming spires of Oxford below. Inside is a small well, which used to take clean drinking water from the springs at North Hinksey all the way down to the Carfax Conduit, an extravagant fountain in the middle in the city which was used to get clean water.
Access to the North Hinksey Conduit House
Access to the conduit house is on foot only and is about a ten minute walk from the road. View details. The exterior is open 10am-4pm, Thursday to Sunday, from April until October and is also open on Bank Holidays during this period.
